Liliana Silva latest collection from Terrakota challenges herself by creating a new collection that goes beyond scales and shapes.
“I am challenging myself, stepping beyond familiar forms. In this my new collection, I let instinct guide both shape and dimension. Each piece is part of a larger whole, coming together to create an object that is singular, yet composed of many. This is a study in transformation, where boundaries blur, and ceramics become something more.”
The collection deconstructs traditional, functional forms, transforming them into objects of pure expression on a grand scale.
By distorting familiar shapes and questioning utility, each piece becomes a statement, where ceramics transcend function to exist as an avant-garde exploration of material and form.
Through this approach, the collection redefines the creative’s work, elevating it beyond convent design into the realm of experimental design.
Each piece invites interpretation, challenging the boundaries between art, design and tradition.

Form exists without function. In this piece, ceramics refuse to serve, they do not contain, support, or obey. It is matter in a state of freedom, pure gesture, raw presence. Dysfunction here is choice. A silence that speaks.

Terramorpha
Is terracotta in a state of mutation. The form dissolves, escapes, denies itself. Here, tradition is not followed, it is reimagined.
The material speaks, free from mold and function.

Something out of proportion, that goes beyond what is expected. It is excess, it is volume, it is presence, not usefulness. Function has been abandoned, the body remains. This piece is useless, it affirms.

Is the liberation of ceramics from its original function. In this collection, form refuses to serve. The object exists by itself, imperfect, unstable, whole. The dysfunction here is not failure, it is language.

Is the counterform of utility. Each piece in the collection questions, distorts, and refuses. Dysfunction ceases to be an error, it becomes an aesthetic choice. Terracotta is no longer useful, it subverts.
